According to Variety, Netflix is currently developing an all-new episode of its acclaimed sci-fi anthology drama. black mirror, nearly three years since the start of last season. Further details about its plot and casting are still being kept under wraps, but casting has reportedly begun for the project.

The outlet notes that black mirror Season 6 would consist of more than three episodes, described as “more cinematic in scope”. Each episode is developed as a standalone film. The new episode will be executive produced by Charlie Brooker and Annabel Jones through their Broke & Bones banner.
Created by Charlie Brooker, black mirror is an anthology series that taps into “our collective unease with the modern world, with each self-contained episode a sharp, suspenseful narrative exploring themes of contemporary techno-paranoia,” reads the synopsis. Without questioning it, technology has transformed all aspects of our lives; in every house; on every desk; in each palm – a plasma screen; a monitor; a Smartphone – a Black Mirror reflection.

The anthology series has already featured a number of famous stars during its current five-season run. This includes Daniel Kaluuya, Hayley Atwell, Jon Hamm, Bryce Dallas Howard, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Mackenzie Davis, Sarah Snook, Benedict Wong, Jesse Plemons, Andrea Riseborough, Joe Cole, Letitia Wright, Anthony Mackie, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Andrew Scott and Miley Cyrus.
black mirror has also been recognized by awarding bodies. He won 8 Emmy Awards including three for Outstanding TV Movie for the episodes “San Junipero” and “USS Callister” as well as the Bandersnatch interactive movie.
