Conor McGregor has teased a collaboration with music and film star Jared Leto after the couple crossed paths at a celebrity-packed Spotify event.

McGregor was on hand to see rapper Kendrick Lamar perform at the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès on Monday. The event took place on the first day of the Cannes Lions Festival, with McGregor also spending time at the Cannes film festival last month.

The UFC star was pictured chatting with Leto, who is a huge MMA fan. Leto was on hand for McGregor’s last UFC outing, in which the Irishman broke his leg against Dustin Poirier in their trilogy clash. Posting a photo with Leto, McGregor wrote, “Talking about plots with Jared Leto not movies.”

Reflecting on the night, McGregor added: Thanks Spotify team, we had a great night! An intimate concert on the beach with rap legend Kendrick Lamar! One thing is certain, if it’s music, it’s Spotify! Great and glowing conversations about my UFC colleague, Joe Rogan, too! What a truly awesome and powerful company, Spotify! I was honored to attend.”

Leto expressed interest in playing McGregor or UFC boss Dana White if a movie was ever made about the promotion. McGregor understood the actor’s comments and even invited Leto to play the part with him.

“If we were doing the UFC movie, if I was younger I would be playing Conor McGregor. I have a beard,” he told Extra TV. “What Conor does and what these guys and girls do is just amazing. The athleticism, skills and commitment that they have made it would be next to impossible to step in and fake that role.

“I think Conor would be an amazing, or Dana White. I’m probably too old to do Conor, but you never know. Maybe we could use CGI (computer-generated imagery). If they could do one CG in me, that would be a great story. I should shave my head, go to Ireland and get a bottle of Proper 12.”

McGregor has never appeared in a movie other than his 2017 documentary “Notorious.” The former two-weight champion had an additional role in The Escapist, with fellow WWE star Sheamus also appearing in the 2008 drama.

Since his horror injury last July, McGregor has been on the mend but has finally started kicking with his compromised leg. McGregor was demanding a title shot against Kamaru Usman upon his return, but that is no longer on the table following the recent announcement of the welterweight champion’s title defense against Leon Edwards for UFC 278.
