Earl L. Barnett, 86, of Imler, formerly of Claysburg, died Tuesday at UPMC-Magee Women’s Hospital. He was born in Punxsutawney, the son of the late Dale and Jessie (Graffis) Barnett. He married Jo Ann McAnnughey on June 12, 1954. She predeceased him on February 2, 2016.
Surviving are three daughters: Joy (Terry) Smith, Patty (Melvin) Claycomb and Sally (Stan) Herline; two sons, Doug (Kim) Barnett and Dan Barnett; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; his fiancée, Lucy Long, with whom he resided; and one brother, Terry Barnett.
Earl graduated in 1954 from Punxsutawney High School. He served in the National Guard and was vice president of sales for the James Austin Company for 45 years. He was a member of the Claysburg Church of God and always helped others. He loved camping, campfires, old cars and spending time with his family.
Earl was a loving and generous person.
A celebration of Earl’s life will be held at a later date.
