Gerald J. “Jerry” Fogle, 73, Ashville, died Monday. He was born in Spangler, son of the late Clarence and Anna (Krug) Fogle.

He was predeceased by his wife, the former Janet Wright, on May 7, 2002; and his sister, Patricia Jean Fogle.

Surviving are these siblings: James (Marie) Fogle, Mary Ann (Greg) Smith, Theresa (Bill) Myers, Thomas (Cindy) Fogle, Rita (Terry) Wilson, and Ida (Denny) Schenk. He also leaves to mourn many nieces and nephews.

Jerry was a Vietnam War-era Army veteran and a member of Ashville’s VFW and the Loretto American Legion.

He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, especially at the VFW in Ashville. He volunteered to make hoagies for the Ashville Volunteer Fire Company.

At the request of the deceased, there will be no visitation.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 19, 2022, at St. Thomas Catholic Church, Ashville, with the Reverend Robert Reese officiating. Military Rites provided by Ashville VFW and other local military organizations.

Arrangements are by Gibbons Funeral Home, 1688 Liberty St., Ashville.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to the Ashville VFW in Jerry’s memory.
