Massive accident ‘involving a Met police car’ shuts down busy London street

The A10 High Road in Tottenham is partly blocked off as at least 15 emergency service vehicles are at the scene of an accident, involving a police car earlier this afternoon.

Seven Sisters: emergency services on site after the accident

A woman has been taken to hospital for treatment after a ‘huge’ car accident involving a police vehicle blocked a road in north London.

At least 15 emergency services, including ambulances and fire engines, are at the scene on the A10 High Road in Tottenham.

Eyewitnesses reported that a police car was involved in the incident.

They added that they saw someone being taken to hospital.

The serious incident happened around 5:30 p.m. near the junction with the Seven Sisters tube station.

A Met Police spokesman confirmed that one of the police vehicles was involved in the crash.

They added: “At approximately 5.35pm on Tuesday April 26, a police vehicle was involved in a collision with another vehicle on the High Road, N15, near the junction with Broad Lane.

“London Ambulance Service attended and a woman in the other vehicle was taken to hospital for treatment; at this early stage she is not believed to be seriously injured.

“No other injuries have been reported.

“Road closures were put in place while the scene was processed.”

Following the crash, motorists in North London were warned of lengthy delays in the area as crews worked on the scene.
