A Kazakh MMA fighter has been hospitalized after being shot in the chest the day before his fight at an event in Moscow.

Bagdat Dyusembaev, a middleweight fighter for Russia’s Hardcore Fighting Championships promotion, was reportedly shot dead after an argument with a security guard.

“Kazakh” was supposed to compete in the co-main event of the 22nd Hardcore Fighting Championships on Thursday night.

But a report by Russian media outlet Tass explained that Dyusembaev was shot dead after he got into an altercation at an MMA gym in Moscow.

“The day before, along Ordzhonikidze street, house 10a, during a conflict with a security guard of a fitness club, MMA fighter Bagdat Dyusembaev was shot in the chest,” the report said. .

“The victim was hospitalized in the city clinical hospital of NI Pirogov.”

Dyusembaev was looking for his first MMA victory against Mikhail Avakyan in his next fight, but the fighter now faces a much bigger battle after being taken down.

He has previously competed in the Body Mania promotion and the Top Dog Fighting Championships, a backyard bare knuckle boxing promotion.

Dyusembaev claims to be a former Body Mania champion, but his professional 0-2 record suggests otherwise.

His first defeat came with a corner save against Yaroslav Kuk, before returning to the cage two minutes later and losing a decision to Danila Volkov.

Hardcore FC did not issue a statement or comment on Dyusembaev’s reported hospitalization for his gunshot wound.

It’s unclear if Dyusembaev’s scheduled opponent Avakyan, who is undefeated in two pro fights, will still compete at Hardcore FC 22.

The main event features another middleweight clash as Islam Zhangorazov takes on 44-fight veteran Vyacheslav Vasilevskiy.
