Athlete of the Week: Swank struck out 14, drove in two runs and was Portage’s game-winning pitcher in a 6-5 win over Penn Cambria and was named to the All-Tournament team while leading the Lady Mustangs at the Mayhem on the Main Tournament Championship. She was the winning pitcher and struck out six over three innings in a 16-1 win over Bishop McCort, in which she also doubled, scored twice and drove in three runs, and went 2-for-3 with a run scored and two RBIs in a victory over Johnstown in the championship.
Season Update: Swank broke the all-time strikeout record earlier this season for Portage and is currently 4-2 with 55 strikeouts. She’s batting .550 with 15 RBIs and a pair of doubles.
