Name: Ashden Stitt
Age: 17 years old
Athlete of the Week Achievement: Stitt fought back, lost two strokes with three holes to play, and made a clutch putt on her 18th hole to win the District 6 Class 3A Girls’ Individual Golf Championship and earn a spot in the PIAA Championships later this month.
Season update: Stitt was the top female player in the Mountain League this season and was a medalist in all of her team’s regular season matchups.
Quote from Coach Jill Hileman: “Ashden has been committed to improving several aspects of her game since last season, especially her short game and putting, as well as her mental game. All of these factors were important in her District Championship game. She was late early, but she kept a “one shot at a time” mentality and was able to get back in the game. She hit a few clutch chip shots and pressure putts during the final holes to come back and win .
