The Karbi Film Society prepares for the 4th General Conference

Diphu, September 8 (EMN): The Karbi Film Society (KFS) is organizing its 4th General Conference at Karbi People’s Hall, Taralangso, Diphu on September 10-11.

Addressing a press conference in Taralangso, KFS Chairman Dhaniram Tisso said at the two-day conference that there will be an election for a new KFS team for the next term. of three years.

Besides the election, nationally awarded Karbi films like “Kachichinitu”, “Vosobipo” and the Prag Cine Award-winning film “Hai-i-mu” will be screened.


KFS will also congratulate eminent artists and personalities like Padmashree Dhaneswar Engti, Producer and Director of ”Kachichinithu’ Khanjan Kishore Nath, Former Executive Member of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) and Founding Chairman, KFS, Renowned Filmmaker and Singer, Bidyasing Rongpi, the Founding Secretary, KFS, Semson Terang, renowned singer Pokhila Lekthepi and retired Deputy Director of Arts & Culture Department, KAAC, Hemari Tokbi.

Tisso also informed that a memorandum of understanding will be signed between KFS and the Satyajit Ray Film & TV Institute (SRFTI) for the development and promotion of Karbi’s films.

The KFS President earlier met with DEAN of SRFTI, Bipin Vijay, in Kolkatta on September 6 and discussed the overall development of films with special reference to Karbi’s films.

SRFTI, an autonomous corporation funded by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, and KFS, a welfare organization for comprehensive development of film and film fraternity, will soon hold a joint workshop at KPH , Taralangso, said Tisso.

KFS invited Tuliram, managing member of KAAC, as the main guest of the 9/11 congratulatory program.
